Production Editor

Jessica Kingsley Publishers is an award-winning publisher committed to social change, publishing over 200 books a year. We are looking for a well-organised, enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join us as a Production Editor.

Working within a positive and busy Production department, this position will suit a candidate with a great eye for detail, impeccable grammar and spelling and effective time-management skills who has an interest in the books we publish, and will offer scope for considerable autonomy and responsibility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for taking their allocated projects through all stages of production up to publication, ensuring all books are produced on time, to budget and to a high quality, and communicating effectively with authors throughout the production process.

You will foster and maintain effective relationships with external suppliers, briefing and overseeing the work of all freelance editors, proofreaders and indexers, and collaborate closely with our team of Production Controllers to produce exceptional products.

 

This role is based in our London office, close to King’s Cross station.

Singing Dragon (Jessica Kingsley Publishers) - Marketing Executive

Jessica Kingsley Publishers is committed to publishing books that make a difference. We are seeking an enthusiastic new Marketing Executive to help create and deliver successful campaigns for our Singing Dragon imprint, promoting authoritative books on complementary health for professionals and the general reader, on topics such as Acupuncture, Yoga Therapy and Nutritional Therapy.

Working within a supportive and dynamic team, this position will suit a candidate with marketing experience who has an interest in the books we publish. The successful candidate will be responsible for all areas of marketing the imprint from devising campaigns, planning catalogues, executing digital and social media marketing, and attending conferences. You will also manage our textbook marketing, liaising with lecturers to process requests and secure course adoptions.

Marketing expertise gained through working in publishing would be beneficial, and a demonstrable interest in high quality marketing, communication and fresh ideas is essential. You will need:

  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload and meet deadlines
  • An ability to develop a deep understanding of the market and the issues that affect and influence customers
  • A clear, accurate writing style and the ability to produce fluent and persuasive campaigns.

 

This role is based in our London office, close to King’s Cross station.
