Quality Matters in Children's Services

Series Editor: Mike Stein Consultant Editor: Caroline Thomas The provision of high quality children’s services matters to those who use and provide children’s services. This important series is the result of an extensive government-funded research initiative into the Quality Protects programme which aimed to improve outcomes for vulnerable children, as well as transform the management and delivery of children’s services. Focussing on current challenges in making every child matter, titles in the series are essential reading for all those working in the field. Mike Stein is a research professor in the Social Policy Research Unit at the University of York. He has researched the problems and challenges faced by vulnerable children and young people for 25 years and contributed to the development of policy and practice in the UK and internationally. He acted as an academic adviser to the Quality Protects research initiative. Caroline Thomas is Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Applied Social Science, University of Stirling, UK. She is an academic adviser to the Department for Children, Schools and Families.
